Sustainable and ethical fashion
I have gained a deep understanding of the negative impact of fast fashion and the importance of finding new solutions. It has allowed me to see the potential that fashion students are using deadstock fabrics to create environmentally-friendly designs. Through this collaboration, I have researched why fast fashion is affecting the fashion supply chain and can we change consumers’ culture.
    Fashion Supply Chain

    • It is no secret that the problem of the fashion system is the high demand for cheap
    • fashion items. The fashion industry is in crisis as it faces the realities of the
    • anthropocene. As the anthropocene era progresses, the speed of fashion consumption
    • continues to increase. The ecosystem is being pushed to the breaking point due to
    • consumers demanding more fast fashion products. Therefore, the impact politics has
    • had on the fashion industry is more divisive than before. There is a lot of evidence to
    • suggest that there needs to be a new way or strategy to the fashion industry supply
    • chain. The most significant issues facing the fashion industry are the environmental
    • impact, transportation/shipping, labour and material shortage.
